Koprivnica Creative Sector in the Spotlight: New Strategies for Growth through the CCSI4CCSI Project

The creative and cultural landscape of Koprivnica took center stage during the 4th Local Stakeholder Group (LSG) meeting of the CCSI4CCSI project, held recently at Enter Koprivnica. The gathering served as a vital platform for local creatives, entrepreneurs, and city officials to translate European best practices into concrete local actions, aiming to transform the city into a regional hub for innovation and culture.

From Europe to Koprivnica: Learning from the Best

The session opened with an overview of the project’s recent international milestones, specifically focusing on the "Exchanges of Experience" (EoE) held across Europe. Participants were briefed on key findings from Krakow, Kolding, and Thessaloniki, where topics such as cross-sectoral cooperation and needs assessment were explored.

A special emphasis was placed on the most recent exchange in Kortrijk, Belgium, which centered on the "Green CCSI" transition. In a proud moment for the local community, the social enterprise Humana Nova was highlighted during  EoE as an international example of best practice.

In the meeting, there was a discussion about strenght and weaknesses of the local ecosystem. Stakeholders identified several core strengths and structural weaknesses. The meeting transitioned into an interactive workshop where participants proposed several bold initiatives to strengthen the local scene. The presence of Mayor, Deputy and representatives from the Department for Social Activities provided a unique opportunity for direct advocacy. Stakeholders were able to discuss pressing questions and present their ideas directly to those in charge of local policy.

This dialogue led to the discussion of a pivotal policy measure: the implementation of subsidies specifically for entrepreneurs operating within the CCSI sector. By integrating these subsidies into local development strategies, the City aims to provide a safety net and a growth engine for creative businesses.

As the CCSI4CCSI project continues, these local insights will be crucial in shaping a more resilient, innovative, and sustainable creative future for Koprivnica.
